There are some wonderful places to stay on the island of St. Maarten. Whether you choose There are many large resorts, some of which are timeshares, as well as smaller hotels and luxury villas. If a timeshare is something you are looking for then we might suggest concentrating your search to the Dutch side of the island. Both RCI and Interval International are well represented with on the island. The French side tends to offer more quaint places to stay. While there are some large properties, most on this side of the island tend to be smaller, quieter, and more often romantic. Beach access is almost never an issue as most properties are either on the beach or within just a very short walk. If a villa is more to your liking you should have no problem. There are hundreds of luxury villas all over the island. In recent years this has become a very popular option for island travelers. Your experiences matter to the traveler!

| How to Obtain Permanent Residency |
|
A non-national may obtain permanent residency after they have legally proven that he or she has been residing in the island territory of St. Maarten, Netherlands Antilles for ten years in a row. Residency can be proven by temporary residency permits, continuous SVB (Social Security Bank) coverage, or a declaration of the Tax Inspectorate for the years that one is registered as a tax payer. |
